SNL SPECIAL EDITION

Franco-Arabic script inspired the design of the logo/title of the publication. Franco-Arabic is a mixture of the Arabic and English script used to communicate in Arabic over the Internet or for sending messages via cell phones whenever Arabic is not available for technical reasons or just difficult to understand. These days, it is used more than just a technical problem and a more common language between young people. This enabled me to use a modern approach that has not yet been done in the Middle East.  My target audience will relate to this writing style since they use it in their daily lives. The J in Jawhara is also a J in Arabic so that is where the Franco-Arabic script comes into play in a clever way. I was inspired by "Pashion Magazine" and "Oushe" because they've attempted to use arabesque techniques to their logos as well but not the actual Arabic letters themselves.

BRAND IDENTITY

Logo Design

Doubling the initials of Diabetes and Diary influence the logo. Since the App focuses on Type 1 Diabetics, a 1 shape was implemented into the overall design. This logo was completely inspired by the use of the App, which is to let the user log in whenever they need to carb count, find specific food carbohydrates, basal rates and anything that revolves around Diabetes. This design creates a circular motion which emphasizes the constant cycle of care that has to be done.

Iconography & Color Palette

This is the set of icons used to navigate the app with a distinct color palette to help the user know where they are. Each icon symbolizes a category or a set of pages, whenever the color is being used the user knows what category they are on.

UI/UX DESIGN

These interactive screens are overlaid over the DDiary website, giving viewers the chance to engage further with what the App actually does. The screens include a test run of the App on mobile devices and how they work. The App design was created in Sketch.

SOCIAL MEDIA & POSTERS

The poster design was inspired by characteristics of Type l Diabetes to make it more relatable to the user, along with a brief description of what the App is used for. Social Media Accounts were created to add more interactivity with the user.
